Chicago raises minimum wage for some

On September 3, 2014, Chicago Mayor Emanuel signed an executive order requiring city contractors to pay a minimum wage of $13 per hour. City contractors and subcontractors will pay increased minimum wage on contracts advertised after October 1, 2014. The wage will increase with inflation in the future.
