PBGC mails plan administrators notice about 2013 premium filings

The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) has recently mailed a notice concerning the 2013 premium filings to plan administrators who file via My Plan Administration Account (My PAA). The PBGC expects that this will be the last time a paper notice concerning premium instructions and reminders will be sent. Instead, the PBGC intends to either post future notices on its website or send notices by email.

In the notice, the PBGC notes that it expects to post the 2013 premium instructions on its website by January 2013. In addition, the PBGC highlights the changes made by Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act (MAP-21; P.L.112-141) to premiums and briefly discusses other changes expected for the 2013 plan year filings. Plan administrators are reminded to change their My PAA passwords the next time they log in for better data security (unless they have recently done so).
