Camp questions readiness of IRS, HHS to implement ACA

House Ways and Means Chairman Dave Camp, R-Mich., on August 1 questioned the readiness of the IRS and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to implement the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) by the mandated October 1, 2013, deadline, citing numerous reports questioning the agencies’ ability to have the health care law’s provisions up and running on schedule. CCIIO issues 2013 county data for ACA notices for non-English speakers

The Center for Consumer Information & Insurance Oversight (CCIIO) has released an updated list of all counties in the United States that meet or exceed the 10-percent threshold of people who are literate only in the same non-English language. For details, see ¶2069M.

In response to rising health care costs and mandated changes brought about by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), a new survey from Aon Hewitt shows that many U.S. organizations have or are seriously considering sourcing post-65 retiree health care benefit coverage through the individual Medicare plan market. Labor Department renews memorandum of understanding with SEC on retirement and investment matters

The U.S. Department of Labor announced that it has renewed a memorandum of understanding with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on sharing information on retirement and investment matters. The memorandum was signed by Secretary of Labor Tom Perez and SEC Chair Mary Jo White. For more information, see ¶122L.
