Nontraditional wellness initiatives are emerging, survey finds

Celebrating a birthday, rolling up the sleeves for a community volunteer project and taking that extra day of vacation are probably not the first activities that come to mind concerning workplace wellness. However, less traditional benefits are quickly taking the stage as top wellness initiatives, according to the International Foundation of Employee Benefits Plans’ recent survey Workplace Wellness Trends. HHS affirms “skinny plans” do not meet minimum value requirement under ACA

Employer-sponsored health plans must provide substantial coverage of both inpatient hospital services and physician services to meet the minimum value (MV) requirement of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA), HHS has clarified in a final rule. For more information, see ¶2084Z.

IRS changes addresses and user fees for 403(b) pre-approved plan applications

An IRS revenue procedure changes the addresses to which applications for opinion and advisory letters for 403(b) pre-approved plans should be submitted. It also inserts a user fee that was omitted from Rev. Proc. 2015-8. For more information, see ¶17,299U-73.
