Small businesses in five states will get early access to SHOP Exchanges
Small business in Delaware, Illinois, Ohio, Missouri and New Jersey will be able to access the online portal for the Small Business Options Program (SHOP) Exchange in late October ahead of the November 15 start of open enrollment, according to the Department of Health and Human Services. Many plans waiting for HHS guidance on health plan identifiers, poll finds
Ninety-percent of ERISA Industry Committee (ERIC) members have not applied yet for a Health Plan Identifier (HPID) for any of their self-insured health plans from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), according to a poll conducted by ERIC. For details, see ¶2080F.
Employer mandate isn’t pushing workers into part-time gigs
Despite claims that the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) would lead to an increase in part-time work, no ACA-attributable increase was seen by the Urban Institute for 2014. For more information, see ¶2080G.
Employer-sponsored family health premiums rise 3% in 2014, deductibles up 47% since 2009
Average annual premiums for employer-sponsored family health coverage reached $16,834 this year, up three percent from last year, continuing a recent trend of modest increases, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation/Health Research & Educational Trust (HRET) 2014 Employer Health Benefits Survey. PBGC proposes to revise its system of records
